The rain tends to fall mainly at night and is usually a short and heavy tropical downpour. Rain may occasionally fall outside of the normal rainy seasons. In the highland areas, north of Nairobi it may get chilly at night or in the early mornings - especially June, July, August when temperatures are cooler - so it is recommended that visitors pack some items of warm clothing.

South Africa - 09 Nights/10 Days

Climate
As South Africa stretches between the 22nd and 34th degrees of southern latitude, it is part of the subtropical zone. Compared to other regions at that latitude, temperatures in many areas of South Africa are rather lower. The cold Benguela current causes moderate temperatures on the West Coast, and on the central plateau, the altitude (Jo'burg lies at 1753m) keeps the average temperatures below 30 degrees Celsius. We now continue alongside the Indian Ocean, and stop to see the Jackass penguin colony, which has become well established, at Boulders beach near Simonstown. Then we travel onwards until we reach Cape Point and the Cape of Good Hope. Said to be the romantic meeting place of the two mighty oceans, the Atlantic and the Indian, Sir Francis Drake the Explorer once called it "the fairest Cape that we saw in the whole circumference of the Globe”. And rightly so, it must be the highlight of any visit to the Mother City, if not South Africa.
